Methodology

How the tools work

The tools on this site give early planning numbers to help you compare options. They are not contractor quotes or installation contracts.

How price bands are built

Estimate ranges combine area, surface type, edging length and likely drainage extras. They are meant to show a realistic planning range rather than a single headline number.

How drainage and risk checks work

Drainage tools look at simple inputs such as area, fall, permeability and runoff pressure. They help surface early warning signs, but they do not replace a proper survey where levels, discharge or planning detail really matter.

What the outputs are for

Use the outputs to compare options, check assumptions and prepare better questions for contractors or planners. If a result depends on details the tool cannot see, that limit should be stated plainly rather than hidden behind fake precision.
